A new resource suite from the Fintrac-implemented Feed the Future Enabling Environment for Food Security project examines the enabling environment factors for animal source food (ASF) market system success.

Given the unique needs of different animal species, the enabling environment for ASFs is distinct from that of crop market systems. Understanding these factors and how they shape access to specialized products and services that support ASF market systems is key to translating their potential to support inclusive economic growth, resilience, and improved nutrition into impact.
