Gender discriminatory social norms are a widely recognized barrier to women’s economic empowerment, affecting both their agency and their access to economic resources and opportunities. This session will explore how members of the SEEP Network’s Women’s Economic Empowerment Working Group have tackled gender norms in the context of their work in developing countries, drawing on practical examples and strategies for understanding, measuring and changing social norms.
