Microfinance and Cash-for-Work in Livelihood Restoration following a Natural Disaster
Jun 20, 2016 | by Banking With The Poor Network
This brief provides suggested guidelines for microfinance institutions (MFIs) indirect involvement with cash-for-work (CFW) activities. As a general rule MFIs sshould not be directly involved with cash-for-work programming because it falls outside of their areas of expertise and specialization. However, MFIs can be involved indirectly through consensus building with CFW providers, MFI linkages to CFWs and providing guidance on gender equitable CFW responses.
