This learning brief which provides an overview of the needs experienced by MFIs in Rwanda in introducing and embedding client protection practices in their operations. It draws on consumer protection assessments and upgrade action plans undertaken with a few of the largest Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) and Savings and Credit Cooperative Organizations (SACCOs) in Rwanda in 2017, using the Smart Campaign methodology.
