FINCA's 2018 International Women's Day Event

Mar 5, 2018 | by

A year ago—it seemed we were on the cusp of real and lasting change.

Hillary would shatter that glass ceiling. Wonder Woman would smash box offices. Sheryl would keep inspiring new generations to rethink the role of gender in the workplace.

What a difference a year makes.

Surveying the landscape as we close 2017, the forces that have held back significant progress remain. Globally, progress towards gender parity has slowed in many places. The World Economic Forum predicted in 2014 that it would take until 2095 to achieve global gender parity. Then one year later, they estimated that a slowdown in the already glacial pace of progress — meaning the gender gap wouldn’t close entirely until 2133!

Clearly, we need to accelerate change.

FINCA Impact Finance—a global provider of responsible financial services driven to empower women with access to financial solutions —invites you to our third annual International Women’s Day event.

This lively debate and call to action will grapple with a question that we must urgently answer: how can we close the gender gap faster?
