Emergency Economies: The Impact of Cash Assistance in Lebanon
Jun 25, 2014 | by IRC
This report shares the results of IRC's "Impact Evaluation of the 2013-2014 Winter Cash Assistance Program for Syrian Refugees in Lebanon". In conducting the study, IRC hoped to understand to what extent cash assistance had a positive impact on Lebanon’s economy and whether there were any unintended negative consequences of cash assistance. IRC indicates that the report is the the first study to rigorously compare refugees receiving cash to those not receiving cash, which makes it possible to quantify the causal impact of the assistance.
