This document summarizes presentations and discussions at the Consultation on Mainstreaming DRR in Financial Institutions and Mechanisms, held in New Delhi in June, 2016. The Consultation was organized by the SEEP Network in collaboration with Sphere, India to bring together Government and Non-Government actors engaged in the area of disaster risk reduction, microfinance and other financial mechanisms. The goal of the meeting was to better understand the challenges faced by the microfinance providers and their low income clients, as well as opportunities for collaboration across the range of market actors to increase the resiliency in times of crisis. The meeting also brought together diverse stakeholders to gain input on the proposed methodology for risk mapping and diagnostic analysis in relation to the financial services sector.
