This webinar constituted the first installment of the Towards Resilient Livelihoods for Very Poor Households webinar series.

Integrating extremely poor producers into output markets is a project design and implementation challenge. This webinar explored the question, "What are proven push and pull activities that integrate the extremely poor into output markets?" The extremely poor are those persons living on less than $1.25 per day.

The webinar covered:

• Designing components for pathways for the extremely poor to be better integrated into output markets
• Elements of push-pull programming methodologies for improving household nutrition and dietary diversity
• Positively impacting gender dynamics to improve household income through engaging in output markets

The webinar speaker shared on several projects that work with the extremely poor in output markets including project in Haiti and Malawi.

Dan Norrell - Senior Technical Advisor in Economic Development at World Vision, Inc.

Dan works on World Vision, Inc.'s Food Security & Livelihoods Team providing technical services to grant acquisition for US Government and Foundation funding in microfinance, enterprise development, economic strengthening, economic recovery, and other economic development interventions. He provides technical services to World Vision National Offices in economic development programming. He also provides technical services to VisionFund International in microfinance. Mr. Norell holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration and a Masters Degree in Social Work. He has seven years overseas experience and 16 years in head office providing technical backstopping to World Vision Economic Development projects.
